What started as a gearbox issue has basically turning into a mini rebuild. Plus i've got an angry gammon as a neighbour so I'm looking for any excuse to extend the amount of time my dilapidated rust box sits there ****ing him off.

All shocks are shot and springs are past there best. Renewing them all. Also taking the opportunity to remove the 2 inch left the previous owner put on it - do not know why people do that.

Terrafirma all terrain shocks all round. At the back standard height HD terrafirma coils - (i have a roll cage and roof rack so get a fair bit of roll when driving, plus its often laden with camping gear etc).

My question is for the front - terrafirma standard height springs are out of stock. My options are britpart HD front springs, standard britpart/allmakes front springs or LR branded front springs. Does anyone have experience with these? I'm happy to fit cheaper all make/britpart springs if they're decent, the LR branded ones aren't that expensive actually so don't mind spending the money if worth it

I put Standard Genuine springs on my Ninety. I thought that as the first set had lasted 30 years, another set probably would as well.
They improved the ride comfort and handling, the old ones had sagged a bit over time.
Avoid HD springs, they make the ride extremely harsh, unless you carry half a ton of stuff in the back all the time.

I have put Britpart HD coils all round, as I'm kitting it out as a camper and was the cheap option at the time and I'm not sure what weight I will be carrying. It may be because I've never had a decent set yet but I dont mind them.. I'm guessing from the above comments my opinion will change once I upgrade.

Armstrong dampers are OEM, if they were good enough at the factory dont see why they wont be when it comes to replace them.

You might be OK with them on a camper, because they carry a lot of weight, water, leisure batteries, all your kit when you go away.

The Armstrong's are what I use, have had other makes over the years but for general use the original type is fine and cheap enough to replace if damaged.
I have had my Ninety a long time.:D

I have had both Armstrong and Boge on Land Rovers, no problem, and quite good value.

Buy new Puma "take off" springs from Twisted's "surplus parts" dept and fit those.
A set of four is about £100, if they've got any left.
They are standard specification but give a slightly better ride quality.
You won't go wrong with those.

Check out Flatdog springs, they offer a good choice. If your vehicles is often heavily laden with weight up high, consider some anti-roll bars.
