I've been looking at adding some roof lights. Thinking about a 6 mount version. Is there any designs/makes I should avoid? Any dos and don't? Are the cheap eBay ones any good?

Would using a roof rail be okay or would it look pants (can't find a picture of what one would look like)?

Thanks, but I bought Dr. Evils. I've gone for Small LED lights (possibly make some myself later, or change the drivers in these). Its likely I'll end up mounting two per lug.

A quick point for anyone making roof light bars or fitting them, if there are holes to route cables also add a drain hole or seal them after wiring. There was some internal corrosion on the one I bough (nothing serious, easily treated). If water gets in it needs to get out.

Hi ecotack. I've got the 6 spot roof bar on my discovery 1 with the rectangular wyrack spot lights. Purchased off eBay. There's a guy on there that sells the entire range, from just the bar with 4 or 6 light brackets. Then he can sell them with the lights, of different quality. Then he can sell them, bar, lights, and wiring loom. Type in Land Rover discovery roof lights. The choice is yours.
