Hi,Looking some advice I have a 2002 Freelander Td4 currently 97,000 miles on her, after following some good advice on here i have stripped the air intake the EGR valve cleaned and replaced(have not done clanking mod yet not sure on benefit) and changed the crankcase breather, was looking at re-mapping and i came across this RON box has anyone heard of these? how good are they? ,do they work and how hard are they to fit (is there anyone living in northern ireland who have fitted one so i could call and have a yarn with you).

After cleaning the air intake etc as above i noticed the idle now sits around 600 rpm (Previous around 750 rpm) and the temp gauge which previously religiously sat mid way on the gauge now only sits there when engine is pushed on, then it will return to slightly below mid way which is puzzling me along with the tick over, any thoughts ?

RoverRon box. Get one. Don't go for a remapped ECU.Trust me , these RoverRon boxes are the best thing to buy.Plug and play, so can be removed and sold separately when vehicle is moved on and second hand they are not that much different in price to new as demand is high. Just make sure you'r MAF sensor is good so you get the full benefit. Fully adjustable so you can decide what power/setting you want depending on what you are doing with the vehicle at the time. I've yet to hear anything negative about them on all the forums I've been on. Just lots and lots of happy users.

Had one of these on my 2002 td4 112,000 miles. Transformed it.!! Most amazing mod you can do. Buy new from Ron. Freelander will fly, gets rid of that nasty turbo lag and may even add a mile or two. The only downside is, if you tell your insurance company, some will not insure and others will hike up your premium.
