I have Rock sliders fitted to my 200 Tdi 90.
They are very high and make getting in and out difficult. Especially for the wife.
Cau I fit the LD standard folding step? Or is there one that works with them.

Failing that I may replace them with something more appropriate. Are they easy to remove, ie just bolted on?

Might be worth starting a thread in members vehicles which focusses on your upgrades and rebuilds etc. There is a chance your questions will slip between the cracks. Somewhere you can load images so we can visualise the issue you are facing?

If they don’t have the bars on, the folding steps should fit. If they’ve got the bars, you won’t be able to fold the steps up.

The rock sliders should bolt on. The bolts might be seized depending on how long the sliders have been fitted and if they were fitted with anti-seize compound.

If they are ones without the bars it may be worth swapping them for a pair with the bars. As silly as it sounds despite being at the same height having the tree bars fitted to the rock slider makes getting in and out a lot easier. I have had no complaints form her since I swapped.

I have the ones with the bar on. Even with grip tape on them they are quite a streatch getting in. I think I'm going to have to design something to hang off them.

Didn’t @bankz5152 make something removable to aid entry/exit to his defender? It may be worth a search through the last couple of pages of his build thread.

If it helps there are some more pics in my thread (maybe 3 pages back) held in with two pins at the rear.

Wanted a step that would help short as ses get in but could be removed easily when off road. Nothing off the shelf fit the bill.

The standard side steps can be modified to fit the situation you've got. Put a plate on the top of the slider and long bolts down into the holes in the step mounts. As long as they're folded they don't create much of a problem for normal off-road use, although we've had one mangled in Morocco.
