I have an lt77 gearbox (i believe its out of a disco), it curently has a standard speedo cable (with rotating innards) connected to the speedo. I need a RST to feed my ECU.

I've been trawling through the internet trying to find out how it's done, and read many conflicting stories.

|one person has said there is a RST which also drives the old cable.

Another says the cable stays where it is and the RST bolts on to a different location.

Can someone please help with part number and locations etc cause i'm stuck. Once i've sorted this she will be running perfectly. :)

you dont say what engine you have if its a V8 the speed transducer from an RRC should do the trick it fits in the cable up near the brake booster. I have one in my 110 3.9 csw .

I've just taken an electronic sender thing off my R380 so as to fit a cable. There should be loads of peeps on here that have done the same when fitting the Disco LT77 into an old Defender.
I dont think mine will do for you as mines from a 95 I think model Disco with 300 and R380.:)

rr used to have transducer bolted to chassis mount with short cable between, the later r380 has transducer bolted to transfer box where cable used tp go you need to remove speedo drive gear and swap for black one to fit transducer

Yes it's a 3.9 v8 with a lt77 gearbox.

So have I got this right? The speedo cable stays where it is at the gearbox end, and goes into the transducer at the speedo end near the brake booster. So how does the speedo get it's feed? And what is the part number of your transducer if u know?

sorry cant help on part number , the engine was changed to 3.9i about 8yrs ago . The transducer is in the speedo cable line , i.e. the cable comes from gearbox, goes into t/dcr and then short cable goes to speedo head. Two wires also attach to t/dcr to provide pulse to ecu . All i can tell you that it was on rrc most likely on earlier efi models . my engine was out of discovery , which did not use inline transducer . HTSH
