Hi there, new to the series landrovers and iv got myself a S2a
I know it's needing work done on the chassis. I want to take the body right off and strip it back to just the metal and fix the holes and seal it up properly. I have no idea were to start. I hope you can give me some pointers
Cheers

Put some pics up first off - we luv pics we do :D

Then get yourself a decent manual, Haynes or the Land Rover "green bible" - or both.

Plenty of sound advice on here if you ever get stuck!

Welcome along. Plenty of restoration threads on here, do a search and do not be afraid to ask even the silliest questions. We all had to start somewhere. And when you get ****ed off with it just leave it for a while and the motivation will return. Take plenty of digital pics when you start to take it to bits, it will help your memory of how to put it together again.

Cheers for the support. Will post more when I start.

There is no better vehicle to learn your fixing skills on than a series landy,I started over 40 years ago on one and must have saved a small fortune in garage bills over the years and that's not just on Landrovers. You may not be able to fix everything and sometimes you are better off leaving it to a specialist. However nowadays with the internet/Landyzone we can all get in touch with know how of James Martin and other long time landy fixers, cheers.

Photograph everything - from different directions. Buy a cheap camera to do it with - one you don't mind getting dirty or scratched.

First thing to do is decide what you want if you want it running at some point may i suggest you ignore the chevy idea

Very nice little project you have nice little 2a!!

The most sensible and easiest solution is to keep it standard not many are these days and it will pay you back in reliability and simplicity 10 times over. People say land rovers are in reliable tosh!! Correctly looked after and serviced they are brilliant!

I suggest you look up the series 11 club or indeed a local ALRC club which hold regular meets for true enthusiasts!

Good luck anything you need just ask!

Yes keep the standard engine especially if it is a petrol, I do like a 2A first Landy I drove was a 2A with 13,000 miles on it and no dents or rust, went up the woods in it and I was hooked.
