Does anyone have the 'Standard' height from the centre of the wheel to the wheelarch?
zzr100 gave the dimensions from the road for standard tyres but I have 255/60x18 which are going to alter things a bit. Anyone possibly measure their RR and see what we get? Rave gives the variations from Standard but only states that the standard is set using testbook, not what the standard actually is in real terms.
(Low 1" below standard, Access 2.6" below standard, High 1.6" above standard and extended 2.75" above standard).

A standard 18 inch wheel with a 255/55x18 tyre has a diameter of 73.77 cm, a 255/60x18 tyre has a diameter of 76.32 cm so about 1 inch larger.

I'll hide behind you zzr......

I've got broad shoulders and a fat gut....

The reason I'm asking this is I'm away offshore Brazil at the moment. I got my son to change the EAS ECU due to a previous problem which cured that but I just wanted himn to check the ride heights as I know they usually need calibrating after an ECU change. The dia you mentioned above - is that with weight on the car or with the overall dia with no weight on it? Just trying to be as accurate as possible to get a good idea what it's looking like.
I'm still hiding........
Cheers

The diameters are without weight, the diameters were obtained from here:

I'd increase the low height by 15mm, standard and the high height by 19 mm to allow for the increased wheel/tyre diameter. Remember you only have to allow for half the increased tyre diameter.

My apologies folks for the error in my post giving dimensions from "Wheel Centre" to arch.
That information was wrong, the figures were for standard wheels with new tyres to the floor:doh::doh::doh:

The correct dimensions from Wheel Centre to arch is:

Standard 470mm

High (Std. + 40mm) = 510mm

Access (Std. - 65mm) = 405mm

Hope this clears things up !!!!

No problem!!
I hold my hand up.....it was my mistake. I have that many lists of data, just read the wrong sheet.

Just imagine the Monster P38's that would have been around if people had applied the first set of figures

Hello, I am re calibrating my P38 heights this weekend.

Can I check a couple of things:

1) Are those measurements the same for front and rear?
2) I have 18 inch rims with new tyres, are these measurements for that size?
3) The Motorway setting is not required? Is that because the EAS does that?

Thank you

1) Yes.
2) You go from the wheel centre so tyre size/condition is irrellevant.
3) You calibrate all heights.

please can anyone tell me, can you reset the access height say 40/50mm lower and also would this alter the other standed settings

Does the P38 store individual height readings for each ride setting??

The L322 you store one set of values and the ECU extrapolates the different ride heights based on this datum reading...

Come on mate, has it been a long week?
Of course it requires all of the different heights, or YOU'VE wasted a lot of your time posting up those diagrams with all of the heights.

:D

I remember a few years back on here we had somebody who had access to a decent workshop and some hard plastic rods. He made himself some beautiful height blocks that built up, a bit like a toddler's toy. I thought that if he'd produced a few sets and offered them he'd have made himself a few bob.
Maybe something for somebody to do and rent out?
