Had the burnt out door lock motor problem - and a battery going flat. So the RF Reciever seems likely to be the problem.

Can I just replace the RF reciever with one from ebay - or is it more complex than that?

Advise against Ebay Receiver....some unscrupulous sellers put the old gubbins into a new box and flog as the latest version.....

If you can muster it - best get it from a reputable source, this way you can be assured of it being the latest (and better) version.

A while back I enquired after one on Ebay that the guy said was the latest. I wasn't so sure and when I started asking him questions about it he was very evasive. I gave it a miss.

Thanks for the advice. I have disconected the RF reciever and will leave it like that for a while. I can buy a new reciever after chritmas!

After a lot of trouble shooting it has lead me to believe that mine is toast too ( Nonocom message: Becm has failed to receive a valid radio code ), but its pricey new here and can get another one for next to nothing from my scrappy, who brings in very low milage Jap 38s, Mostly 98s ( seem to be a lot of P38s from that year ! )

Never had any of those flat battery, lock burn out or picking up stray waves issues here.

So I am guessing a it should be just plug and play job right.
