Revs dropping on idle

Hi guys i am a newbie so bear with me please. Recently bought a 51 plate 1.8 petrol with 53000 miles on the clock and a new engine less than a year ago. When we pull up at traffic lights or a junction etc the revs drop right off almost to a stall before settling themselves. Any ideas? On tickover the revs also drop alot if we turn the steering wheel before settling?

idle air control valve needs a clean out, probably

Sounds a good place to start, any idea where its located? Lol sorry newbie :/

If you can blow through it when its removed its fooked...... with no power it defaults to closed position.

I had the same problem not so long back
