Hi there to all you yummy landy folk :D

Well I'm back again with a little question for all of you:

Q. My reversing lights will only stay on when I hold the gear stick in reverse, as soon as I let go of the gear stick the lights flicker and dim. I've fitted a new reverse light switch but the lights are still acting up. Is it to do with the gear stick being too loose (sorry don't know what the technical term is) and if so how can I rectify this problem? :scratching_chin:

Q. Also I've been reading other threads relating to this subject and my question is do they test reversing lights for an MOT or not? :whoosh: Just want Bertie in tip top condition when he goes in for his early next year :D

Anyway thankyou so much for taking the time to read this thread :)

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon, just one of you would be nice

Byeeeee :5bseeya:

either switch isnt as good as should be or theres some wear on gear stick yoke ,you would need to remove box top to check

Cheers for that :)

The switch is a brand new one (land rover part) so I guess it looks like its wear on the "gear stick yoke" then - is this something I could check for and if so rectify myself? (Remembering I'm a newby )

yes , you need to remove consol and tin cover off gear top ,undo linkage and 45 bolts holding top on box ,yoke is held on with 5mm grub screw ,top can be reasealed with silicone
