Reverse light won't go out

AS title says - quite annoying - change the bulb at the weekend because the last one had blown and now it won't go out? Didn't notice the problem just after I had changed the bulb. Really need to fix asap as MOT this Friday!

Switch is stuck or bad earth.

Best way to get to switch?

Am sure the reverse light doesn't need to work for mot.....

when you accelerate toward things, do they get further away..?

Yeah not a test item

Lift middle seat or remove cubby, undo bolts holding plate under that. Then you will see two wires going into the switch, BE very careful not to over tighten the switch or it will snap with the thread in side the transfer box ( i'm sure people know how i know that)
A new switch is about £5 make sure you refit with a locking nut as the switch is not screwed full home or your Diff lock wont work.

If it's not solved before the MOT, take the bulb out. Contrary to the myth, it's one of the many things thats simply not tested. It's not a case of "if it's there it has to work". You will fail showing a constant light to the rear though, so by taking the bulb out all is sorted

The switch may just be stuck in the on position - try tapping it with the handle of a small screwdriver to test.

Switch was ok, turned out to be corroded wire. Cheers
