Still having problems with my rev counter.......

Its not working.... all the other dials work, when I turn on the ignition it bounces about 1mm so there must be power to it

Is it controlled by the ECU or the alternator?

I've searched and also trawled the net to no avail.........

Any help would be much appriciated

Cheers

With mine I had to remove the clear plastic cover on the clocks and give it a push back on. Went on with a "click" and worked fine after that.

The Rev counter is driven by the dash ECU which gets it's data from the engine ECU via the CAN buss.

The rev counter now seems to be working but in reverse, the only difference is I've put a different alternator on it????

it is 100% not controlled by the alternator???? I cant find info anywhere regarding it:confused:

I get revs when I connect to the ECU via the OBD port (not on the dashboard rev counter though)

The Rev counter drive definitely comes from the engine ECU.
