Retrofitting rear bench seats to newer defender?

Just wondering what would be involved in retrofitting the older side facing bench seats to a newer defender, say TD5 or Puma?
To retro fit into a TD5 is no different to any other earlier defenders as they still have the spacings in the capping to mount the back support. I am not sure about the later models. They were redesigned to take forward facing seats so the capping and wheel box may be different. it also depends it you want to fit individual side facing seats or the very basic two man bench seats, neither is complex and just bot into place so I am sure could be made to work with any of the models. Legalities however is a different question and I cannot help there.

Lots of posts on this-I’ve added side facing bench to my TD5. Adding the seat is easy, two holes drilled through tub. As long as you don’t want to do anything mad like add seat belts you’ll be fine

That is a whole different debate on if they are safe and make any difference, but the important thing is legally they are not needed on side facing seats.
