ive read that this message comes on sometimes after hard acceleration. none of this was done. i drove it home like always. and light came on when i pulled up in the drive. so i didnt notice anything going on or drove it after the warning. what should i do? could this have something to do with the oil level? I'd get the diagnostic tool on it. I've a sport in the garage that has a restricted performance warning as well. Could be the butterfly flap entering the Inlet manifold junction or even turbo issues bit à good scan will give you a place to start investigating ;)

If this is the one your dad was just looking to buy from ET Coevorden , TAKE IT STRAIGHT BACK!
Don't try anything, don't touch anything, just give it back. They can repair or refund.
If he bought a different one from another dealer, same applies. If he bought privately different rules will apply.

The one here with me has turbo codes, overboost and a turbo position actuator fault. He bought it with a engine light on... I did suggest he took it back after we diagnosed it..

I would say you need to get it on diagnostics, first thing I did when I got mine was to get the IID tool .
Restricted performance can be a holw mulititude of different things. Why do you mention the oil level?

I do not know when you purchased it and from whom, if you can get it taken back and checked then it would be a good option. Although I do not know what the laws are in the Netherlands for customer protection either.

Cheers

If it was oil level surely it would also tell you that? Why not check the oil level and see.

Plug it in is the way forward.
