replascement ignition key

i have a freelander TD4 2000 with only one key. Can anyone suggest how i can get a replacement cheaply

Spare Car Keys | Replacement Car Keys | Transponder Keys | Lost Keys
They cut one for my daughter's Yaris from a photograph taken by my phone. To program it I had to go through a sequence of pedal presses with the new key in the ignition. I was sceptical at the time - but it worked! Much cheaper than Toyota or Timpsons.

Maybe not...

cheap but slightly less secure version is to have two keys cut from the key you have, but don't worry about the transponder.

then araldite the key you have with the transponder inside the steering cowl next to the lock barrel.

then the cut keys will start it every time.

(as will hot wiring it, effectively you will be disabling the immobiliser) your call

Anyone know how much Land Rover charge for a replacement transponder key?

Got quoted 90 for the key and 40 for programming.
