I have a set of Bridgestone Dueller tyres on my Classic. They are about half worn but I just noticed the n/s front is badly worn on the outside and probably won,t pass an MOT.
Question is, can I replace just the one tyre (same type and make)or does it have to be a pair or worse still a full set ?
I understand that diff problems can occur when new and worn tyres are mixed.
Any advice most welcome

As long as radial and same size, fine. I've had garages being a bit anal about speed rating, but not had any problems with mot. I'd be tempted to spend 30/40 quid on a part worn for now.

As for mot as long as the cords aren't visible or the tyre is below 1.6mm across 2/3rd of the tyre it can't fail, the reason why it could be wearing is British roundabouts, if you in the UK that is, I swap tyres every 6k miles to even out wear.

it could still be legal with shoulder wear (The legal minimum tread depth of the main grooves of car and similar tyres in the United Kingdom and the European Community is 1.6mm. This applies across the central three quarters of the breadth of tread and round the entire outer circumference of the tyre.)so you need to get wheels aligned aswell.you running 205/16s or 235/70/16s ? doesn't have to be the same brand but must be same size exept remould/retread as this can differ in rolling radius

Must have visible tread on the quarter that is below 1.6mm. Totally slick is a fail

I think it's high time the long-standing 1.6mm was reviewed. I normally renew any tyre (other than the spare) at 3mm as 1.6 may well be legal but has been demonstrated as ineffective in bad weather. I'm surprised that legislation hasn't caught up with the use of very old tyres as well.

1mm for HGV

My God, I use to drive the things, inc. over ten years on artic tankers & never knew that  I know they could be re-grooved (if the spec. allowed) once, but always assumed the min. depth was the same as PLG.

Don't think re cut tyres can be fitted on the front wheels.
