I noticed a small drip of gearbox oil on the left hand side. I suspect the driveshaft seal in the gearbox, although not sure yet.

I am reading a lot of threads concerning replacing IRD driveshaft seals, but does anyone has experience with replacing gearbox driveshaft seal? (lr number: TRX100060L), can this be easily replaced?

It's not a difficult seal to replace but before you do grab the CV joint and try to move it up and down. If there is a lot of play a new seal is'nt a complete cure as the output bearings could also be shot!! If play is minimal then the new oil seal can be tapped or pressed in.

Easy job, I took the brake caliper and disc off to remove some weight before I dropped the hub from the suspension strut.
Drive shaft will then pull out of the gearbox, no need to remove the hub from the driveshaft.
Make sure you can remove the gear box oil filler/level plug as you will lose some oil, have a search if it's an auto box re topping up.
Fit a new circlip to the shaft or it may pop out again.

Thanks, I will check the bearing first, changing that, isn't an easy job, is it?

The number above is the IRD seal, (o/s), gearbox seal is TRX000010L (n/s).
