P38A Replaced HG misfire

Gents at the weekend replaced the head gasket on the offside bank on start up have a misfire so have a fiddle about and get a shock off the lead to pot 8 silicon leads by the way so swap the lead s 8 and 6 and get a belt off no 8 again with a different lead so thinking must be the coil pack but not sure how that can be ????
Bit confused any help appreciated

The V8 works on the lost spark principal, one cylinder is sparked at TDC firing one is sparked on the exhaust stroke. Coil 1 fires 2 and 3, 5 and 8. Coil 2 fires 1 and 6, 4 and 7.
 
That makes a bit more sense will have another go tomorrow I do have another coil pack I can put in and check all the connections - Wish I hadn't sold the nano com when I bought the l322 best get another on order

Gents misfire resolved split cable was steaming a bit so thought I had another hg prob nope it was the valley gasket replaced and she is running bit rich I think as unstable on log so will order nano com now it is lighter at night and not so cold so can have a tinker
