Hi,

The sole key which came with my car has a fob which is well and truely 'thumbed'. Is it possible to get a replacement housing and transfer all the electronics and the key into?

Am resigned that I'll have to drop £150 for a new 'wife' key but would also like to revamp the existing key too if possible.

Cheers.

I no a lady who sells key fobs on eBay so I'll hava chat wif her see if she's got one. If not has anyone tried those fob repaiers on eBay? I think they send u like a replacment battery an new button rubber.

I know some people on Ebay who make a fortune selling P38 keys to unsuspecting mugs who think they will work despite being told numerous times that can't be reprogrammed and are as useless as a chocolate teapot.

its because the company that makes them has gone skint, there was 2 on ebay last week, one went for £35, the other made £47.
sorry this was for blank uncut key and fob.
the repair kits are always on there, or try these guys, 01707 665588, they always got them laying about, charged me 3 quid for last one they done for me.

The company that makes the key fobs is HUF, the have not gone skint as far as I can see, they are part owned by Siemens a huge conglomerate. HUF turnover last year was around €770million, they have operations in a large number of countries. They make locking systems for Merc and BMW as well as Ford among others.

How many times does it need saying? Key fobs from Ebay will NOT work. They cannot be re-programmed to any car other than the one they were made for.

Button rubber pads, batteries and coverplate are available from many places at about £6 for good ones.

Yer know whats gettin up MY Nose!!!????

My "Flip Blade" wont lock into an "OUT" position......It LOCKS IN but not OUT The FOB works fine (Now it has new rubbers, Batteries & Cover).......

Is there a way to fix this??? Drivin me nuts having me keys saggin around my right knee!!!!

Hi fella,
maybe we have a miscommunication here.

I hear what you're saying about the key fobs not working from ebay. Im not looking for a cheap key/fob but rather for a new 'donor' rubber for the body of the key. Perhaps im wrong but im presuming I can lift the key, electronics battery etc out of the existing key and just use the rubber from the new 'donor' key... ???

Cheers

Just buy the repair kit for £6 and repair your FOB in less than 5 minutes:D

A new rubber button insert is only just over £1 from the dealer, batteries are standard size eg from supermarket!
