Hi

Hoping to fit a parrot hands free this w/e to my discovery td5. Have had a quick look for location of box etc and looks fine. My concern is the removal of the pillar trim with the tweeter speaker in it (is that the b post trim?), to run the microphone. I have broken enough trim/ trim clips in my time to know to ask someone the best way to remove before i break something!. Any advice gratefully received? If anyone has fitted a parrot 3200 any advice they have would go down well too?

Many thanks

The trim is fixed with 4 metal push in clips which run down the centre of the trim piece. If you pull it hard enough it will come.

You don't need to remove the trim to get the mike cable in. I had a Parrot Kit fitted to my D2 this week and the guy used a pointed screwdriver with an "S" shaped end to push the lead in. He didn't use the point but the side. It ended up with a very neat finish.

Thanks for that Denis. If can get wire in without removing all the better as i know how fragile the plastic trim clips become, and knowing my luck would snap one or two! Will hopefully get fitted later today.

Cheers.

I have a bluetoth handsfree stereo in Disco 1 (98 300tdi), not sure how different the innards of the two are but I fitted the stereo and put the mic next to the dash.

Looking from the drivers seat at the stereo, I ran the cable out the right hand side of the stereo area, down behind the clock and hazard button into the fuse area under the steering wheel. Then I put the mic in place and ran the cable under the plastic housing for the dash and tucked it in using the edge of a credit card all along and down to the fuse area and you can't see the wire.

Have a look at this thread here, you can see the mic and the lack of cable on show in the top right of most of the pics

Hope this helps

thanks for that Stretchie. The main box etc have mounted in fuse area. As you guys have stated, very easy to run the wire under the trim. i have mounted the mic up on the grab handle above door and the control function screen/buttons, have mounted by the hi/lo shift as able to run cable under the trim so didnt have to drill any holes which was a result. all works great now. really clear for both parties and best of all now legal to use phone.

thks guys.
