I have found various "how-to" instructions to remove the EGR, but not how to remove the EGR cooler. I would to remove it so that I would be able to attach the EGT probe where the exhaust manifold attaches to the egr cooler. Also, as I do not have the EGR anymore, it is something else that could leak, and I d rather have it removed!

My main concern are the coolant hoses going in and out of it - Was thinking about joining them but they look like they are of different sizes?

Any help would be appreciated....
 
some say that you could blank the hoses, others say to use a reducer to connect them, bypassing the egr cooler. I think the latter would be a safer option, using a brass reducer, like:

From what I am reading I would need one from 10/14mm

any experience?

You can blank the pipes without fear... or if you want a ''clean'' job remove that whole circuit(including the pipe pointed with blue) and blank at the oil cooler and expansion tank(pointed with red)

Check it's description in RAVE and you'll see... late EU3 modells with the square fuel cooler are coming with that oil cooler port blanked from factory cos the circuit is different hence that expensive PYB500040 part
