removing fuel tank

ive to remove the fuel tank on my 99' TD5 auto
ive removed the understrap but the tank wont come out its stuck fast.
any ideas or have i missed something

Have you looked in Rave? It tells you how to remove the tank.

Just had mine out to do some work on the chassis. Its a pretty tight fit, but it will come, make sure all "3" pipes (breather / vent / fill) are disconnected first as they will hold it up. The pipes to the fuel pump may also be tight, they need to be disconnected as well

When you say under strap, you do mean the big wide plate undereneath ?

maybe its also "stuck" to the upper (thin) strap, I assume thats disconnected one end to ?

Once its all disconnected, it comes out left hand side first (looking forward). Mine was actually up against the chassis on the left side.

my old man got it out by removing the towbar while i was at college today

now on with the cutting and welding
