I read somewhere that removing the air con belt can help improve MPG and performance a little. I'm not worried about performance really, but any increase in MPG from the big V8 is welcome. Is this true? I dion't even know if the air con works so not fussed about using it! Also, the belt looks a bit perished and worn anyway, so it'll probably let go at some point.

So, worth taking it off to boost economy a bit?

Ta!

If the aircon is not working removing the belt will not save you very much if anything at all that is measurable. Putting a few extra psi in the tyres would save you a lot more.

Yeah? Actually, I need to check the tyre pressures this weekend as haven't done so yet! 28PSi front, 38PSi rear isnt it?

Will probably leave the belt where it is then!

Utter tosh! and no. Provided of course the electromagnetic clutch on the compressor hasn't locked up (unlikely).

30psi on the front and 35psi rears if you have the same type of tyre as per book.
Tyre choice, binding brakes, engine servicing, wheel bearings, roof racks, roof boxes, windows open etc, can all affect mpg.....
Personally, I don't need to drive miles each day in the RR's so mpg isn't really a big deal. If mpg was an issue I wouldn't be driving RR's
