I’m removing a 3.9 out of a discovery and was wondering about the fuse box under the bonnet. It has fuel pump and injector fuses so I assume I need to keep it. There’s a feed from the engine in one end and a big bundle of wires from the other end going into the dash. I would keep the engine feed but can I remove the big bundle from the fuse box or not?

Are you going to be putting it in a different car (sure you said somewhere)
Keep everything till you are finished would be my advise, and mark everything as you take it off.

Yes it’s going into one of my defenders. It’s just that if I have to keep it I will have most of the discovery wiring loom rolled up under the bonnet :(

Wire and plugs will come in handy.

Get 1 of those plastic storage boxes to put it in.
The loom that goes to the fuse box could be utilized to get rid of the original fuse box.
Once you are finished and its running then you can get rid of stuff left over.

Is the motor alarmed?
(not In the scared way;))

Yes but no but .......

I’ve no idea but shes been sitting at work for about 4 years without a battery on her and I just would stick one on to go play, and I’ve never had to disarm or push any buttons to start her
