Hi all, I’ve recently purchased
My first Defender and it has a Zeus Cam Gear kit which has been happily on the car for quite a long time, however now reading up on it I’m a bit worried about it and thought it might be best to return it to a belt. What I don’t know is what parts I will need to do this since the front of the engine is quite different to a standard 300. Wild anyone know what bits I would need?

There are poeple who will pay good money for the zeus kit from what I understand so do not throw it away.

Cheers

If it works just leave it be.
Cheapest way to change would be to buy a 2nd hand engine, as I bet all the bits will cost much the same, and you will have laods of useful bits left over.

Any reason why you'd want to change it out to the belt setup? Aside the noise tradeoff, I don't think the zeus setup had any major issues.
Anyway, as has been said, quite a lot of people would be more than happy to take it off your hands.

I was thinking of changing it out as there’s a lot on line about the reliability of the kit. However if it’s going to cost a lot to put it back then I’ll run with it for now, and as o said it’s been on the truck for years and works okay.
