Hi
Can someone tell me where the remote locking sensor is located on a TD4 s?
My key fob would often need several pushes of the buttons and now wont lock or unlock the car at all.
I had the key tested and it has a strong signal so I am wondering if the sensor is dirty or has been affected by the condensation in the car---but where is the sensor????
Thanks

Yes it's buried underneath the dash behind the instrument cluster. It's unlikely to have gone wrong. When was the battery last changed in the remote? They only last a couple of years.

It has been playing up on and off for a while and I had a new battery fitted but it made no difference.
Finally packed up completely at the weekend...I took it to have another battery fitted but the guy used his magic tester and it showed a good strong signal from the key fob.
I've done the standard 5 presses of the button but still not working.....Could it be condensation?
Any more ideas please ??
Anyone?:))

I have one of my wife's remote and that hardly ever works so if I want to drive her car I have to have her keys and yes I have cleaned the contacts inside

Thanks for the replies but I'm no nearer a solution yet :) and still have no central locking with the key fob..I've done the resynchronising
but it made no difference.
What i really need is someone who's had this problem and rectified it.....

Have you removed and inspected the RF receiver yet? It's just a few screws to get to it above the cluster. You may find the contacts are corroded, or the act of unplugging and reconnecting clears some static in the circuit. Also, disconnecting the battery for a few minutes might clear a similar issue in the CCU.

Thanks everyone...I bought yet another new battery and resynced it and it's working again :))
Just a note to others about resynchronising...I had to press the key fob buttons really fast to get it to work..
Thanks to everyone.

Hi.
Did you do the resynch??
I had to do mine really fast. I'd been pressing the button for ages at what I thought was quickly and nothing happened.
Then I got really hacked off with it and pressed it really fast....with some rude language of course, and success!!
Could have been the swearing though LOL
