I have a few remotes which operate at 433.92 Mhz they are designed for opening automatic doors and garage doors. My question .. can these be programmed to lock and unlock the freelander using diagnostic tools?

I have only got one remote at the moment and i want a back up if it fails.
I have heard that if the fob fails then they keys wont be able to start the car due to immobilizer being active. Also the alarm with go off when if i open the door using the key, Is this information correct?
Thanks

The answer is very short.
No!

Again No.
That's incorrect.
The key will open the vehicle, turn off the alarm and disable the immobiliser, when it's inserted into the ignition lock.
