Hi,

I have a '95 3dr 300 TDi, and when I bought it it came with two keys, but no remote key fob. Granted my machine is a low spec one (manual windows), but did all 300 TDis come with remote central locking? Or is mine a true poverty spec machine with door lock central locking only?

Cheers

If you have an operational central locking fitted then turning the key to lock the drivers door the remaining two doors should lock also.
If it does then you will have an alarm system that can be set with a fob and I suspect that with your model year you will require a single button fob, also with your model the alarm and central locking is in one module unlike the later disco with a two button fob which has two modules.
The module you are looking for is behind the glovebox, RHD vehicles.

you can order new remotes from Remote Key Fob Replacement you will need the frequency of your alarm system , remove the lower cover in the passenger footwell and the alarm unit is facing sideways on to the car and is a bit awkward to read so a dentists mirror or inspection mirror will come in handy , there will be a frequency written on it for example 433.92mhz tell this to remote key part with 60 quid or 110 quid for two and youre sorted.

i bort a s/h 2 btn off fleabay £10 and £15 to have it programmed, the single btn ones i believe you can programme urself... tis cheaper than new fobs
