if i also may add don't play with any boost unless you have a boost gauge installed
here is what u run and it explains how to set up
http://www.turbosmart.com.au/technical-articles/boost-spiking-explained/

Did you read this in the troubleshooting section of the link you provided?

• Ensure that there is nothing but the boost controller in the hose between the pressure source and the wastegate actuator, ie tee
pieces for boost gauge or to factory boost solenoid.

Cheers

that "..vehicle to be jerky on fast throttle release and kick down..." was my way to say "boost spike" translated in the vehicle's behaviour and off course i refered to unmodulated wastegate with that manual controler

this also apply to any T piece boost controller
the same reason my factory boost solenoid has been disconnected for many years and I also state that in another thread with my ambient sensor issue
it also explains to pressure check the waste gate diaphragm
that many people don't do
this also goes back to playing with rod lengths

cheers

it also doesn't explain length of hose in the trouble shooting guide but it does mention pipe size
ie longer the pipe means more volume means more ball aches

cheers

sorry to revive a old thread but ive been having hicups at low throttle openings when the turbo is at about 10psi boost. It was like i had momenteraly backed of slightly on the throttle. Boost would drop by about 2 psi then return to normal. I thought I had another fuel pump dying.

Anyway reduced the waste gate rod so I'm getting 20psi on WOT in 4th up a big hill and all sorted so far or so it seems.
My td5 has a boost box and was fitted with a black box of tricks when I got it. The black box has been removed but I can raise the boost.
