Relays misbehaving?

Hi All

So currently been wiring up the second battery and my aux fusebox no.2. This one has got seven relays in it, which I bought brand new as opposed to two which I already had which went into the front fusebox.

Here's the dilemma. I have wired up the relay holders exactly as normal, however when using these new relays (Nagares RLPS/4-12D) it blows the fuse in the signal side. When using a relay identical to the ones I have currently in the front box, it works absolutely fine. Im just wondering if its something to do with the fact that these new Nagares relays have a diode in the switching side, although surely if it was wired backwards it wouldnt blow the fuse?

Any ideas?

I've just had a quick look at the spec of your relays and yes they do have diodes across the coil.

Without getting into the reasons for them (self induced back emf, you don't want or need to know), wiring the coils the wrong way round can blow fuses.

Will test that theory out! Cheers.

B47 is correct, you need to swap the coil wiring around, the way you have it means that the diode passes the current that would normally energise the coil straight to ground and will pop your fuse.
