Hi all , just registered and very new. Located in Cornwall and have brought my first mod 110 land rover currently unregistered in the UK. Has x2 rifle holders between front seats but can someone tell me if these to are gun holders? Possible gun swivel holders?

Hi there,
That is an antenna bracket on an ex-Singapore Armed Forces (SAF/MID) Land Rover. Does it still have a scanner box on top of the dash in front of the driver?

No nothing there. However it is imported from Singapore so you know your stuff. Just trying to work out all the gadgets. there is also a box behind the passenger seat that runs from the twin batteries. Please see pic. And dash pic missing something. Also why x2 fuel tanks? Thank you for your wisdom.

Looks like some kind of power junction, possibly for a manpack radio.
Twin tanks for long range patrols. Obviously, that is not in SG, but they do go on exercise in Taiwan, Australia and Thailand. Oz would definitely need extended range tanks.

So it looks like it went through Brightwells in August 2020, but with a different paint job.
Here's the link: https://www.brightwells.com/timed-sale/5025/lot/485783
I don't know what that sealed unit is, but I'd hazard a guess at some kind of tachometer and the reading hasn't changed at all since it went through Brightwell's.
Looked at that one but that is not actually my vehicle similar but very different as the second pic is from online. I just have a hole in the dash, and every panel has different marks, dents, features than the one in the lot withbrightwells

You should have the remains of a black upright oblong on the tailgate, yes?

To be honest it’s had all different types of paint coats over the whole vehicle. Will be repainting whole thing. Didn’t pay much for it tbh and the chassis is completely rust free. Do have a serious question though....I know the Landy is seriously slow with 2.5n/a but what weight can It realistically tow?

Take pics all around in detail. They had side markers on them and all sorts.

Like all 2.5NA, they were designed for the maximum weight of a Sankey Widetrack, which is ¾ of a ton load + the trailer.
It'll take you most anywhere, but at it's own pace, so don't hurry it.
Bulletproof engine, which is why the MoD bought them in such numbers.
I'm +6 hours on the UK atm, so more answers tomorrow in case you have more questions. 👍

I have an ex MOD 90 with a 2.5 N/A diesel engine in it. I towed a Brian James car trailer loaded with another 90 on it a few years back. It did it but it was the hardest bit of towing I'd ever done, I only went 40 miles but it felt like double. Your 110 might have a 1.6:1 ratio transfer box so its towing ability may be different to my 90.

Thanks for the reply wireman.

Does anyone know what this is and what it does?
Are you able to follow where it's cables go to?
That would give us an idea.
It's not an LR part, nor standard fitment, as you can see, so it will have been fitted on the insistence of the MID and probably locally.

Will have a look and let you know. Not many have these as you say but I have seen theses things in 3 mod land rovers.
