Reintegration into Society

Hi Folks,

I have been a member here for many a year but thought as I have had an absence it was time for a re-introduction.

20 years ago I owned a '72 Series III 88 inch 2.25 diesel. It was a good work horse and took me many places. Eventually though the prop broke and cracked the transfer box so, due to two young children and a lack of funds, it was sold.

I then had 15 years playing in the Middle East honing my sand driving skills in a large American 4x4. Fuel prices not being a problem it was a 5.9l Dodge Durango that did about 10mpg.

Now that I am back in the UK I have bought a 110 Double Cab with a 300TDi and am hoping for some UK based adventures......

Afwan, you'll find it difficult to find sidiqui, and the alcohol free beer doesn't rebrew its self here, but I think you'll enjoy it the local brews in the UK!

Seriously thinking about the Gathering.......just not sure what I am doing around that time yet, and there is the Land Rover Spring Adventure the weekend after.

Fortunately I was in an enlightened Middle East country where alcohol was available to us infidels and you could buy bacon in the shops. I lived in Muscat, Oman.

Loved Oman, and the Omanis. Like the Egyptians, they have a great sense of humour, not a common thing in the middle east, IMHO.
