Regulator vacuum hose blanked off?

Thanks for all the advice guys. Given how well the car runs I'm not convinced it is the MAP vacuum hose we're talking about. I spoke to a mechanic today who, without seeing it, reckons it is much more likely to be the EGR valve vacuum hose that has been blanked off. Going to take it to my local Land Rover dealership on Wed and have a mechanic stick his head under the bonnet to confirm.
I'll take the opportunity to ask him about the running temp while I'm there.
I did notice the guage get up to the 12 o'clock position on sat when climbing a bit of a hill then went back to sitting just above the blue section again when no longer under strain - I don't think this is a major issue and in fact according to another Land rover forum is quite normal for a RR.
First a year would have helped, from your posts we now know its fitted with EGR.sounds like your thermostat has either failed open or has been removed to mask an overheating problem ,hopefully the former.

You mean it never ends? As soon as you think you've finished the boss has another job at other end?
The kitchen isn't finished and we took delivery of a couple of sofas on Thursday  She wants the main lounge refurbed, she's never heard of one job at a timeLoves spending money, we never use that lounge and the furniture has hardly been sat on.The people who were supposed to pick up the "old" furniture never turned up:rolleyes: Anyone want a grade 2 leather 2 seater sofa, a 3 seater sofa an armchair and a foot stool cost new was 7000 and she accepted an offer of £650 .You will have to have a large lounge for this suite of furniture. PM me for further details/photos.suppose this should have been in the for sale section
