Hi just bought a 300tdi discovery. The PO has given me the seats but none of the bolts. Does anyone know how the seats go back in? And which size nuts and bolts do I need?
Thanks
Chris

I take the back seats out for long camping trips,(ooh, er!) you'll find the holes under the carpet, at a guess I'd say they are M8s. Captive nuts on the floor pan.

The bolts are m6 x 25 long there are 8 of them fastening 4 seat fixing saddles, so a 10 mm AF socket spanner fits, @Sestina is correct, there are captive nuts in the floor, though depending on how they have been treated the threads could be damaged, I always apply a bit of lube to the threads when replacing the seats after having them out.
Each seat assembly has or should have a couple of saddle type devices with plastic bushes on the bottom bar that the bolts go through to hold the seats in place, the 2/3 width seat mounts in the RH side the 1/3 seat mounts to the LH side, the seat belts still may be in place but if not they can be a bit confusing to attach correctly or in the correct buckle positions.

thanks for that looks like the PO has sheared a couple of them off, he also took the seat belts out. How do these attach back in?
Thanks

There are three mounting points in the floor just behind the rear seat squabs, they are pressed down into the floor, they also have captive nuts, 7/16 UNF, standard seat belt threads for the time if I'm not mistaken.
If the PO has removed the upper parts, ( inertia reel sash), parts of the belts then you will have a bit of bother to find all the necessary bits.
Your broken off seat mount bolts need to be carefully drilled out, if threads are destroyed try re inserting threads with helicoils back to standard 6mm.
