Refilling vcu

just found this on youtube although its from a VW T3 its pretty much the same thing and gives bit of an insight ! About 4 vids from same chap going through the process.

Der FL VCU ist versiegelt und der VW ist eine offene Baugruppe

The only thing that put me off a diy VCU repair is that the LR units are sealed and the VW units can be opened and closed without welding.

I guess you could just fill it via a hole but you etc. If the fluid was cheap..

a few problems with DIY route:-

You cannot clean out the old freelander VCU fluid without opening it up
The correct grade and exact quanity of fluid must be used
You cannot buy the correct grade of fluid off the shelf, you have to have a large quanitity specially made, costing many £1000's
