Hi

I haven't driven my Manual diesel FL2 for almost 3 weeks now b'cos my machanic @jaguar Land Rover cnt find the problem. The problem began when driving back from camping when a message poped up saying,"reduced engine performance" while doing 120km/h. My SUV reduced power enormousely like jumping from 6th gear to 1st to a halt then couldn't start. I almost coursed a pile-up on the high way. @ Jaguar LR they told me that the computer gives no diagnosis. Then they say its the fuel pump in the tank. After that was changed, the problem persisted. They checked the diesel, diesel is ok. They sent the other fuel pump located in engine for tests. Test result from the bench came back ok( fuel pump is fine). They checked the pressure and its ok. They even changed the wiriing and checked the pipe between the two pumps. STILL THE PROBLEM ISN'T SOLVED!. I'm frustrated please help. What's wrong with my car!

I had similar issue with my 58 FL2, a few months ago. Was caused by a clogged fuel filter, changed fuel filter. A1 now.
The codes stored were:- P0087-22 & P0088-27. All relating to low fuel rail pressure.

could be a dpf issue if fitted, also, does the fuel gauge show full, as the ecu tells the engine to start shutting down when it gets really low on fuel. starts as a misfire, then refuses to rev.

just a thought.

might be worth a look on Freel2.com

I've heard that they have been having alot of problems with newly fitted fuel filters on FL2 at the minute.

I know that the FL2 dislikes fuel impurities, blocked fuel filter could be possible, or if you have codes for fuel pressure plausibility, could be something like the 10bar check valve blown?

Good evening Guys!

Problem hasn't been solved yet. Now they think its the cam shaft and they havin a look at it as I speek. Checked my filter and it was in good condition. I also had the guy regiser an account with LRZ. I'm HOPING for the best

It would be great if you could find the actual DTC's that your car is logging. Would be a great help in starting to narrow down causes.
