Anyone ever seen or used these before? My mate sent me the link and they do look to be pretty good and quite reasonably priced. I've never heard of them before though so wanted to see if it was a matter of style over substance.

I am in need of a new socket set though

Then get to Halfrauds the same as the rest of us, unless style is so important in which case I do a nice line in embroidered gloves to be glued to the forehead for that "face palm" look

Style isn't important which is why I asked if they were any good. And my current ratchet and socket set is from Halfords, its also falling apart cos its overpriced ****e. Kinda like a lot of stuff from Halfords

if its the pro range - take it back for a replacement.

if its the ratchet mech, then they do repair kits....

Not the pro range unfortunately but the handle has split apart and change lever has came off. It's not new but it hasn't been used to death either. Their pro or advanced range is a bit too expensive for me which is why I'm not keen on spending that much cash. I know the old saying 'buy cheap buy twice', or something like that, but just wondered if these red pro tools were any good

You have to buy good ratchets
A life time guarantee is wot you want, but only any good if you can return stuff easy. there is a halfords eavery were
I have loads of cheep tools which are spot on.
I not fond of buying on the net coz I klke to see the stuff first so i dont buy total ****

I've got a cracking heavy duty 1/2 inch one that I got from lidl, no worries of that ever breaking. But I was in need of a new 3/8th one too. Cheers for the advice, will give the rebranded Chinese tat a miss and buy a decent quality one

Halfords pro range don't cover the moving parts of a ratchet. only the handle., I've one of there pro sets, very good, but there is similar for less, that's every bit as good.

I have a draper heavy duty 1/2" ratchet - it's excellent.

I have an assortment, King Dick, Teng, Britool, Halfords, Bergen IMO the guarantee isn't worth the paper its printed on.

If you use the tool correctly the right size for the job and all that then its unlikely you will break it.
72 tooth is a nice feeling ratchet but less IMO you can give more grunt with but can feel clunky.

For heavy work I would normally use my Teng if half inch size is required, althou I have an old skool Britool 3/4 and inch drive when they require that extra squeeze.

I usually pick my 3/8 set out and however much grunt it takes it has if it breaks I make a phone call and get it replaced
