Hi - has anyone come across the red engine light on (immobiliser light I think) but starts/runs and drives fine. It is on a 06 defender - the other issues I have with it but don’t know if related are that I can’t get a code reader to link through the odb port (powers up but won’t link) and also the interior light doesn’t work with the doors. Do you think it points to an issue with the 10as? Any ideas or experiences welcome thanks

Stating the obvious but is the interior light in the on position? 3 positions - off, on with doors open, on all the time. Positions set by rocking the light cover. And check the fuses are ok.

Yes the light works fine on constant on but not altered by any of the doors opening which I know works off the 10as and seeing as I have a red engine light on I didn’t know whether they would go hand in hand with a faulty 10as?

What code reader are you using? Has it ever worked before on this vehicle?
It is a cheapie reader which I have used before on an td5 disco I used to have and my TDCi defender but never on a td5 defender. It have checked that there is 12v on the live pin, checked continuity of the two earths, checked the continuity of the wire running back to the ecu. There is one other wire which I think goes back to the 10as which I haven’t checked yet but the reason for the immobiliser red engine with line through it light is what I was also trying to figure out at the same time and didn’t know whether the issues were related?
