Red and yellow push buttons

hi guys i just got myself a 1972 s3. i cant figure out how to use the 2 push buttons.please help me thanks!

Do you mean the levers attached to the gearbox? Try looking at the second post down in this forum.

Ejector seat and oil slick ain't they

the yellow one pushes down for high ratio 4wd, once its down you have to move the red one back all the way to engage low 4wd this will make it pop back up, then push the red lever all the way forwards to go to high ratio again. the middle of the red lever is neutral on your transfer box.

As he says push buttons rather than lever and plunger I presume someone might have installed something funny

gotta watch it with them butttons infact dont touch them or itll never run again its a self distruct button
