Hi Guys, just bought a v8 2001 model.has been converted to coils, but i would really like to return it to air. I know that there are problems with air but i really want it. reading through the posts i see that some of you have talked about making up a recovery jig for when your springs sag and you just use an airline to blow them back up. Any one done this or know where i can find a link to make one?
i have drove a disco with air and find its not as rough over the bumps compared to coils
Any help would be appreciated

 Return to air????!!!!

You must be the first person I have ever heard/read to say that!! Most I know (including me) are going to or have got rid of it!! I reckon it makes the ride nasty.

I towed my new boat recently for the first time with the Disco and thought that the air suspension was great as it kept the car level.

If mine had a leaking air bag i think I would replace it as it's 80 quid and easy to fit. If the compressor failed I might consider going to coils.

I think I have read some posts about Land Rover not getting type approval for 7 seats and coils, so I'm wondering is there any insurance implications of converting to coils with a 7 seater?

Cheers

Andy

Howdy! 80 Quid..not too bad. WAY more than that here. More like about 150 or so each here. I just don't like the wobbly feel of the airbag suspension.:( I had a DII without it before and it felt a LOT more taught. We are lucky no insurance issues at all with changing to coils. All factory bits so no problem.:)
