Now that I'm finally finding time to spend on my Landy, I've decided it's time to think about fixing/replacing the WARN winch that's been stuck not doing anything since I bought the Landy 12 months ago.

I dug out the instruction manual this morning and found that it's a WARN Z3500, which I believe is a trailer/ATV winch and is only rated for 3500lbs. Should I even bother trying to repair/recondition it, or would I be better off scrapping it and buying a Goodwinch TDS-9.5i, or similar?

It would probably be cheaper to repair the winch but I'm wondering if 3500lbs is going to be of any use to me at all?

Cheers,

chris

you will be suprised what 3500lbs can do no good if your up to your windscreen in a big hole but if you just need that bit of extra grip to get going then its great i would use it as a rear winch as no matter how bogged you get you drove in there so it should not need to much to get you back moving
