Alright folks .Well had my 2003 TD4 Automatic for a good while now , a while longer than usual for our cars . We bought it for the purpose of towing the caravan our Zafira couldnt really do but however we are selling the caravan and for all of half an hour actually contemplated sellin the freelander too but as we like it too much and it wasnt really much of a saving for tax and fuel wise etc changin cars we decided to keep it . Its good in the snow and icey conditions and hasnt really let us down .
She's going in for an oil and filter change soon and i am going to (attempt ) do the rest of the service myself but before i start i was just wondering whats your recommended worthwhile mods to do ??

Seen about a few things on reading forum if anyone could enlighten me on its purpose ( i aint too technically minded ty)
crank case bmw ,egr bypass .

Thanks much for now
Drew

Aside from the oil, oil and air filters the crank case breather filter is a must. Most Td4 owners are replacing the LR filter with the BMW mod.
Also the Turbocharger Boost Control solenoid Valve vent Filter, and finaly the fuel filter. We have had our 55 Td4 for over a year and all the above items have been replaced by myself with some help and guidence from members of Landyzone.
I am now looking into getting a Synergy 2 mod. to help with fuel consumption.
All the above items can be done by yourself and you know it is done properly!
If you do a search on each item on Landyzone you will find helpfull tips and guidence. Let us Know how you get on I.J :)

Crankcase breather followed by egr bypass followed by synergy 2. Also get ayour auto transmission fluid changed before the recommended 60k.

Checked to see if your cubby is wet? This time of year can build up condensation and cubby will fill up. I'm about to make some vent holes and looking to finish each off with some sort of 2 part screw collar (can't recall the proper name of the damn things).
Maybe check yours if you haven't in a while. Condensation on the inside glass is a sign.

Armrest is very nice and easy. Egr clean and bypass is well worth your time, crankcase is a must as is turbo vent filter as said already. These are covered many times in depth if you do a search :)

I will do the crank case breather filter also now though the synergy is not a real must at moment . Glad u said about auto transmission fluid keep forgettin to check with the normal engine oil though will need to find out where the auto fluid is .I have also now that its mentioned found i have to demist the front windscreen in the mornings now so guessin the cubby is wet .
Away to price up parts now Thanks for replys folks
