I've now taken delivery of my 200tdi and I'm looking to give it a full rebuild, I've got the 200tdi engine manual and a Basic Understanding, Do you think I should rebuild it myself or should I get somebody else to do the core components?

I'm in 2 minds about it and I do feel a little Anxious :)

Pop head off and quick visual on the bores will give you a pretty good idea whats going on, ie whether its rebore time.

Why do you think it needs a rebuild?
When I bought mine I used a torque Wrench to rotate the engine past each firing point cannot remember the figures at the minute but the same torque was required for each cylinder so all I did was drop the sump and inspect from there. everything was clean at bottom end and removed rocker and all looked good there.
Now been running nearly two years needed some injector cleaner in the fuel but no issues.

Well I bought it without seeing it, The vehicle it came off had only done 97k miles and the engine looks in great condition, I was more or less wanting to strip it, check the components and and replace what's needed. If any :p
