Rear Wiper Issue

Hi All.

My rear wiper only sweeps part of the screen, then sort of twists very slightly then returns to the rest position. I am not sure whether it is fitted to the correct spline and wonder if it needs moving round one?

I have just taken delivery of this car and have not had chance to get the wheel and bracket off yet. However, this is my second Freelander so I know it is not working right.

Hoping someone can help save me lots of time tracking this down. (Vehicle is 02 reg. Freelander Td4, 5 door.

Thanks for the reply. Suppose I could but don't trust them (and don't want to be without the car).

Needless to say, I won't be using this garage again.

i wud suggest that you do - take it back, give them a reasonable time to fix it, or tell them.....

a) yu want yo money back

or

b) yu will take it elsewhere nd pass the bill to them to pay.

Well I decided to investigate further before taking Mad Hat Man's advice and returning vehicle to supplier.

Turns out the wiper arm is broken on the lower side where it mounts onto the motor. Replacement arm £13 from dealer and job done.

Mine has done this also and it is caused by a build up of snow behind the spare wheel and forgetting about the automatic switch in reverse:doh:
