there are some on ebay right now already tinted in light medium and dark smoke

also there is someone at York selling a 3 door rear roof already tinted and on ebay there is a rear window tinted

these are not from the same seller i dnt think but all you would have to do is fit them

hiya

many thanks found them and also appreciate about the hard top, but ive got now windows in my hardtop and going to leave them blank,

its for my rear seat quarter light windows and the rear door,

thks so much as always for the help

hopefully it may be easier than when i tried doing them before and just couldnt get the air bubble out,

when i buy the pre cut kit, will take out the side windows to try and make life easier, its the back window thats the pig i imagine and know theres an art to it

thks again guys

to get the bubbles out try using a small paint roller as you put it on follow with the roller or really a rubber squeegee is the best.

all of mine are tinted looks good if done right

i think i may see how much it would cost to get it done professionally, ive got all the patience in the world but just couldnt get it right

mix a little fairy liquid with water and pour it into a squirty bottle (you know the ones i mean, the ones with a trigger) spray onto glass then apply the tint, this way you can move the tint around on the glass to get it right, then squeegie the water and bubbles out, works a treat :)

I bought a massive roll of pro-quality film from ebay USA years ago and have tinted the windows of every car I have owned.

There are plenty of good guides on Youtube....Better you watch them than me spending the next three hours typing out a guide.

Had a go at doing mine a couple of years ago, made a right mess of it. So then i let the pro's do it had the fuu back done still looks great. Just remember that if you need to clean the tints don't use any cleaner that contains amonia

hiya

i did watch u tube videos yet still managed to mess it up.

i actually took the back window out i think nearly 3 years ago, bought the film from halfords but maybe that was my first mistake

laid the window down flat, cleaned it with soapy water, dried it off, then sprayed pure water on it, second mistake, as ur mentioning fairy liquid into a spray bottle

then after cutting it to size laid peeled off the backing and held one end up whilst using a large squeegy , ut could not get the air bubbles out then started to ripple and crease

was very careful and took alot of time yet still messes it up , plus i think they have a slight curve in the glass making it even more difficult

after watching utube they seem to make it look so easy

maybe i need to get some from a proper company and not from halfords

after reading reviews about the pre cut ones they seem to come up slighty too short and no good

i would have no problem in having another go but think this time instead of just getting it from halfords again to search out a decent company and learn the correct process and steps in order to fit it without creases or air bubbles

also interested in the mention of using a small roller, is there any particular one, ie emulsion , foam, soft, hard etc

thks so much and sorry for asking such daft questions

Hi,
I bought the pre-cut tint from ebay a few months back, the only bit i made a complete hash of was the rear door window, ended up getting a professional to do it & what a difference having it all done makes....just last week i applied SPI Tint to the inside of the sunroof, just takes off the added glare...have SPI Tint on all my lights too, sets the car off :D

Hi,
SPI Tint is the black 'fly eye' tint used on lights etc....totally legal...bit expensive tho....does look really good esp if your Freelander is black like mine...

Cheers:)

I've just had a quote of 300 quid all in to do the back half of my P38. Does that sound about right?
