noise from that reigon i have recently fitted my new discs and pads and all was fine but i have removed the weight of the diff to fit the wrap around guard don`t think that could be cause or could it can any one help please

Break pad catching on a lip maybe?

Raise the wheel and spin it, listen for grinding or anything untoward.

For Gods sake use punctuation!!

you dont always get play in wheel if the bearing has gone.

jack the wheel and spin and feel for notchy or stiff rotations...

the harmonic damper thing on the doff wont make the slightest bit of difference.

not hard to check a bearing anyway, if you cant find anything, including props, then its best to whip the suspect hub off, amke sure there is no debris behind the disc, and check the taper roller bearings.

cheers

I wouldnt be looking at wheelbearings first for a knock. But further to the above,......

You may do well to try, whilst vehicle jacked up, holding the wheel in question at 3 and 9 o'clock and see if it rocks, towards you on one side, away on the other.Rotate and try again,or move your hands. This gives you some indication of the bearings tightness. Many times it turns out that a wheelbearing merely needs to be tightened up a little to take up the play as it has acquired through wear and does not necessarily need to be replaced.....yet.

just checked the wheel and 4 nuts where loose thightened up and knock has gone suspect someone has had a try at my wheels and realised that there is a locking nut on and gave up thanks for advice any way was appreciated
