Hi guys
I've tried searching ebay and stuff but nothing is showing up but can you buy rear wheel arch panels like you can for a disco 1 or are they the same for disco 1 and 2 :)

Have you checked out YRM Metal Solutions?
They may be able to help?
I have used them before for some bits, with no problems!

Kev

Which repair do you need?
If it is the rear seat belt anchor I could not get one from YRM, they have a repair section for where the tub meets the inner body panels. I bought a repair section with the anchor from eBay, and I found a place that would replace the complete tub. I think the repair patch was Bearmach. There is another company called 'Froggatts' that may be worth a call.

The arch is rusting through where the door shuts over it

The outer arch is aluminium though ??

Hi having done a fair bit of body repairs , That's not a difficult repair, any half decent body shop can weld in a few sections to repair that then a bit of filler to finish it off as its nor visible with the door shut

Yeah was hoping to buy a panel but if not will probably cut it out and patch it :(

it would be a lot quicker and a lot less hassle to patch than remove the panel, as I have done the same job on a D1

A picture speaks a thousand words :)
If you can weld, that can be fixed. I would cut the worst of it out and weld in new steel. Use a separate piece for each face. You could leave it slightly below flush and put filler over it to leave it tidy. Alternative is find a scrap D2 and cut that piece out and weld that in.
Both son and i can't weld but we are thinking of getting a cheap mig welder as son wants to learn to weld but also has a mate who has his own garage who he could ask to do as well.

There are lots of videos on you tube that will show you haw as well as how to cut and shape the new steel using very basic tool, like two bits od angle iron to fold and a hammer to shape it into a curve, done slow dont over bend, as if it low it can be filler with body filler the painted
