I want to swap the simple dimming rear view mirror (from an ES premium) with a dimming+compass rear view mirror (from an ES).

First, I'm not sure why the ES 'premium' seems to have a lesser mirror than the ES - is it lesser or am I missing something?

Second, is the swap straight forward?

(Do I need a special glue to put the mirror back on or something else?)

Cheers!

Hi

If you have a mirror that you have to physically dip yourself, I would suggest keeping it.
I have the auto dipping one with compass and find If you have the rear seat arm rest tucked away, the mirror doesn't dip, quite annoying on a long journey at night.
The compass is also a waste of time, reminds me of the diddies that need sat nav on everyday travelling to and from work - why?

Have to agree . I too have the compass in the mirror and I really can't see the point of it just a green light in you eye line at night . I put tape over it . But to take it off you need just pull down on the base this leaves the mount on the screen ready to pop on the new one . Then just plug it in . From memory the plug is behind the front cabin light . Might be worth checking they have same plugs on them 1st

You're both right - it is just a gimic - I'll not bother doing the swap

Instead, can anyone recommend a small dash mountable compass?
Hmm, perhaps some sort of level too - Then I can pretend I'm a proper offroader :)
