Rear Transfer Box Output Flange

Hi All,

I am about to fit an x eng handbrake to me 96 110 CSW and I want to replace the transfer box to rear propshaft nuts and bolts when I do it as they are looking a bit rounded and I fear I might need to cut them off.

I know that the bolts are held captive in the output flange and I'm guessing it is a big circlip that is holding them captive?

My question is, can I remove the transfer box output flange (presuming it is a case of undoing the large center nut?) and swap the bolts without draining the transfer box.

In a word, no. You will need to drain the oil - but it needed changing anyway dinnit?
