cheers Buster.:)

I don't have the length to sleep in mine due to a wooden bulkhead behind the second row seats. If I use the second row seating area for my luggage I can have a seating area with table in the rear of mine though. Might be worthwhile me getting one in the future and seeing how it goes.

Yu cud have a false floor, which yu cud pull out thru the rear door, to extend the floor area, tho Ratty.

I'm toying with hinging the wooden bulkhead so it'll fold forwards over the second row seats. There wont be a lot of headroom but it may work. I have the chest in the back on one side so i'd just need a couple of bits of ply to cover the other side then.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, but what's wrong with an ordinary tent?

Why do you want half a car in your tent?

From those pictures they look very cold, draughty and small (in floor area, the height just makes it cold) - and expensive.

Maybe it's just because I'm used to normal tents.

as Ratty has, the pop up tents are great... throw them in the air when they land they're a tent. easy peasy... My 30 quid pop up has lasted 3 years; rain, shine and blizzard, done 100+ nights in it, beats all the expensive 'mountain' tents I have had, hands down...

They also put a totaly different perspective on setting up, no longer is the tent the first priority.

I was looking at a 4 man pop up tent the other day. Only the inner was pop up. I couldn't see the point in having a pop up inner and standard poles and fly sheet on the outside.

That big un looks much better.

Nowt wrong with an ordinary tent, used one plenty of times before. Only difference is, ah can reverse the bus up tae the end of the tent and throw the extra bit around the back of the bus and use it as a seperate room.
As for the height makin' it cold, ah just shut me back door and eveything is nice and cosy.... and ah won't be bothered by wet sides blowin' in on me when it gets a bit wet and windy;):D:D

I've just bought one of these to stick on the back of my 1996 Discovery. I'm just under 5ft3". Am I going to be able to put this up on my own or will I be looking for a tall bloke?
